Hi, it’s me. I’m back.

Hi,

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me.

If we met through a workshop, speaking engagement, coaching, or somewhere along the way, you may have noticed that I got pretty quiet in your inbox. Life got busy, and a big part of that was going back to school.

When I started my master’s, I thought I knew what I wanted from the experience. I wanted to update my marketing skills, learn from some of the great faculty at FIU, and continue preparing myself to eventually teach at the university level.

What I didn’t expect was how much the experience would change the way I thought about Éclat.

I decided early on that if I was going to spend this much time learning, I wanted to apply as much of it as I could to the business. That meant questioning what we were selling, who we were serving, what I wanted to be known for, and whether the message was as clear as I thought it was.

So while things may have looked quiet from the outside, there was a lot happening inside. I was pulling pieces apart, questioning them, rebuilding them, and getting much more focused on the work I want Éclat to do.

And that work is effective workplace communication.

I help leaders communicate with greater clarity so people can understand one another, work across differences, make better decisions, know what happens next, and ultimately move work forward. Just as importantly, I want to help leaders examine their own communication practice, because being understood, building influence, listening well, and knowing how to adapt your message are skills we continue developing throughout our careers.

That clearer focus is also what brought me back here.

I’m relaunching this newsletter as The Alignment Brief, and every week I’ll write about the communication that happens inside real work: why something that was perfectly clear to you was misunderstood by someone else; what happens when different perspectives, priorities, or working styles collide; why decisions that seemed settled get reopened; why agreement doesn’t always turn into action; and how the way you communicate shapes your ability to lead, influence, and be understood.

In other words, we’re going to look at the moments where communication either helps the work move or makes it harder than it needs to be.

Because sometimes a little more clarity could save a lot of time, frustration, and rework.

From here, you’ll hear from me every week.

I’m glad to be back. And I’m looking forward to showing you what I’ve been working on.
